Nel settore alimentare e delle bevande, il rispetto di elevati standard igienici è un requisito imprescindibile. In occasione di drinktec, in programma dal 15 al 19 settembre 2025, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS presenterà soluzioni di azionamento progettate per garantire massima efficienza, sicurezza igienica e affidabilità anche in ambienti particolarmente difficili. Tra innovazioni più rilevanti spicca il nuovo trattamento superficiale NXD tupH®, che rende le carcasse in alluminio dei sistemi di azionamento estremamente resistenti alla corrosione, aumentandone la durata dei componenti anche in condizioni operative estreme.
Progettati per ambienti igienicamente sensibili
Gli azionamenti destinati al settore Food & Beverage devono resistere a frequenti cicli di lavaggio e disinfezione. Per rispondere a queste esigenze, NORD ha sviluppato NXD tupH®, un trattamento superficiale che protegge in modo efficace riduttori, motori e convertitori di frequenza installati in aree sottoposte a lavaggi intensivi. Il trattamento, applicato alle carcasse in alluminio, garantisce un’alternativa leggera, efficiente e sostenibile rispetto all’acciaio inox. Oltre ad essere completamente riciclabile, l’alluminio vanta una migliore conducibilità termica, che contribuisce a ridurre la temperatura superficiale dell’azionamento.
Tecnologia NXD tupH®: resistenza chimica e durata superiore
Il trattamento NXD tupH trasforma lo strato superficiale dell’alluminio in una barriera anticorrosione particolarmente resistente, ulteriormente potenziata da un sigillante protettivo. Il risultato è una durezza superiore rispetto all’alluminio non trattato, un’elevata resistenza ad acidi, alcali e danni meccanici superficiali, nonché una pulizia semplice e completa conforme ai più severi requisiti igienici. Il rivestimento è inoltre privo di PFAS e rispetta le normative FDA, UE 1935/2004, oltre agli standard richiesti in Svizzera e nei paesi MERCOSUR, risultando idoneo al contatto diretto con gli alimenti
Componenti disponibili, soluzioni modulari e risparmio sul TCO
Per ambienti soggetti a requisiti igienici stringenti, NORD offre un’ampia gamma di motori lisci senza ventola e componenti trattati con NXD tupH®, disponibili a magazzino e pronti per l’installazione. Tra le soluzioni presentate figurano il motoriduttore integrato DuoDrive, i motori sincroni IE5+ ad alta efficienza e i motoriduttori coassiali e ad assi ortogonali della serie NORDBLOC.1®. I motori IE5+ contribuiscono in modo significativo alla riduzione dei costi operativi e dell’impronta ambientale (CO₂). A breve sarà inoltre disponibile il nuovo NORDAC ON PURE, il convertitore di frequenza decentralizzato con rivestimento NXD tupH®, sviluppato appositamente per gli ambienti sanitari più esigenti. Grazie a un’architettura modulare intelligente, le soluzioni NORD consentono di ridurre il numero di varianti, ottimizzare l’impiego dei materiali e abbattere il TCO, mantenendo al contempo elevati standard di efficienza e affidabilità.

Maximum hygiene and high-performance: NORD solutions for the food and beverage sector at Drinktec 2025
In the food and beverage industry, maintaining high hygiene standards is essential.
At drinktec from 15 to 19 September 2025, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present robust and efficient drive solutions, which meet these requirements. With the new NXD tupH® surface treatment, the company successfully made its aluminium drives more durable in extreme environments, thus ensuring long-lasting performance even under demanding operating conditions.
Due to high hygienic requirements, drive solutions in the food and beverage industry are frequently cleaned and disinfected. With the NXD tupH® surface treatment developed by NORD, drive components such as gear units, smooth motors and frequency inverters are given safe surface protection in wash-down areas, making aluminium drives an efficient and durable alternative for the industry
Treatment of aluminium surfaces With the NXD tupH® surface treatment, NORD makes the surfaces of drives with aluminium housings particularly corrosion-resistant. Aluminium is lightweight, economical and fully recyclable. Furthermore, aluminium housings provide better heat conductivity than, for example, stainless steel, thus reducing their maximum surface temperature. The NXD tupH surface treatment consists of a base layer; the upper layer of the aluminium body is transformed into a corrosion-resistant layer.
An extreme resistance with better hardness compared to an untreated aluminium alloy is reached in combination with a sealer. This process prevents flaking or corrosive infiltration so that the protective effect will remain unchanged even in case of minor mechanical damage.
The surfaces of drives treated with NXD tupH® are largely resistant to acids and alkalis, and can be cleaned easily, thoroughly and hygienically. The surface treatment offers great advantages for use in hygienically critical areas in the food, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical or chemical industry. NXD tupH® surfaces are free from PFAS, and food-safe according to the FDA, the EU Regulation 1935/2004 and the respective regulations in Switzerland and the MERCOSUR states.
Robustly built and put to heavy use
For hygiene-sensitive environments in the food and beverage industry, NORD offers a selection of fanless smooth motors and drive components with the NXD tupH® surface treatment that are available in stock ready for installation. This includes the integrated DuoDrive gear unit/motor concept as well as the IE5+ smooth motors, NORDBLOC.1® helical in-line gear units and NORDBLOC.1® helical bevel gear units. The high efficiency IE5+ synchronous motors significantly reduce operating costs and the CO2 footprint.
Soon, NORDAC ON PURE will be available – the manufacturer’s decentralised frequency inverter with NXD tupH®surface. NORD customers are thus provided with durable and easy-to-clean drive solutions from a single source with high investment security. In many cases – thanks to the ideally matched drive components from the system provider’s modular products – the use of materials or the number of drive variants in a system can be considerably reduced for a significant reduction of TCO.
