Precision thermal control for milk, ice cream, and industry: FIC solutions
FIC S.p.A. is a leading international player in the design of thermal control systems for the dairy, food, and industrial refrigeration sectors. With over sixty years of experience, the company has developed cutting-edge technologies capable of meeting complex and diverse production needs.
The use of Pillow Plate technology, a high-efficiency laser-welded system, ensures reliability, uniform thermal distribution, and optimized energy consumption.
FrigoMilk: Solutions for every scale
The FrigoMilk line is designed to preserve the quality of raw milk by rapidly lowering its temperature immediately after milking. Each model is engineered to deliver the right balance of performance, durability, and operational simplicity.
• The G4 model, with a capacity from 500 to 2000 liters, is ideal for medium-sized farms. Direct heat exchange through the Pillow Plate bottom and the FIPO 3 control system ensure ease of use, efficiency, and uniform cooling.
• The G10 model, available in 2M and 4M versions up to 3000 liters (and only in 4M up to 6000 liters), features a closed vertical configuration, automatic Ramset cleaning, and a compact or remote refrigeration unit. With the FIPO 1 control system and a large heat exchange surface, it’s perfect for intermediate production needs.
• The G9 top-of-the-line model is designed for large farms and milk collection centers, with capacities from 2000 to 30,000 liters. Its closed horizontal tank and bottom exchange surface allow for rapid cooling even with large volumes. The XFIC control system, available from 2000 liters, enables advanced and customizable management.
Chilled water for industry
FIC offers a full range of systems for producing chilled water at 0.5–1°C, tailored to the food, wine, chemical, and process cooling industries. These solutions ensure thermal stability, energy savings, and operational continuity, even in variable cycles.
• EVEREST systems use ice storage to reduce electrical power requirements and stabilize outlet temperatures — ideal for facilities with intermittent consumption.
• RED systems supply continuous chilled water through direct cooling. The RED (blue/inox) versions include refrigeration units and remote condensers and must be installed by a certified technician. The RED Compact line, on the other hand, is plug & play, ready to use, and perfect for smaller spaces.
• Falling film chillers are designed for intensive production. Water flows as a thin film over vertical Pillow Plates, enabling continuous, ultra-efficient thermal exchange.
Ice cream tanks: Control and reliability
FIC designs pasteurizers and aging vats for industrial ice cream production — robust and hygienic solutions ideal for labs, R&D, and the confectionery industry.
• The pasteurizer, equipped with double Pillow Plate jackets, heats the mixture up to 85°C. The electronic control system allows for the setting of precise temperature curves, while cooling is handled by external systems.
• The aging vat keeps the mix at a stable temperature (approx. 4°C) and stirs it slowly to maintain uniformity and stability. The result is a safe and repeatable mixture, ready for the freezing phase.
All FIC tanks are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, easily inspectable, sanitizable, and integrable into any production environment.
Tailored solutions and installation benefits
The FIC range is known for its depth and versatility: each system can be customized according to layout, process type, and specific production needs. Installation beneath a roof rather than outdoors helps protect the equipment, reduce energy loss, and increase overall efficiency.
FIC also prioritizes sustainability, integrating low-impact design principles and production processes across the board.
