You don’t just choose the right door: You design it
For MTH, insulated doors represent the convergence of eighty years of manufacturing experience and a vision of the cold chain as a single system — from the component to the cold room, right through to the refrigeration system that powers it
Since 1942, MTH has been developing and manufacturing solutions for industrial and commercial refrigeration. For more than eighty years, the company’s expertise has been built up across the entire cold chain: today, the group designs and manufactures insulated doors, door components, refrigeration systems and cold rooms in-house, with an established presence in over 70 countries.
Thanks to a strong focus on research and innovation, MTH has, over time, built up a range of insulated doors — both hinged and sliding — used in supermarkets, food processing plants, logistics and the pharmaceutical sector. Both types are designed to guarantee thermal insulation down to -45°C.
MTH hinged doors offer a high degree of customisation in terms of materials and colours, with panels available in Glasbord, stainless steel and polyethylene. Furthermore, the components include 3D hinges adjustable along three axes, the CSI-model handle – certified to EN 179:2008 – and electronic locking systems for access control.
MTH sliding doors, complete with frame and patented sliding system, stand out for their ability to handle continuous flows of people and goods. For applications in the most extreme temperatures, the 490 LWT sliding door represents the most advanced solution in the range: designed for temperatures as low as -45°C, it features components made entirely of stainless steel and a dual heating system — on both the frame and the door leaf — to prevent ice formation at the sealing points. The automation system is certified to EN 13241-1.
For situations where horizontal space is limited, MTH offers the vertical sliding door: the door leaf, fitted with a fall-arrest system certified to EN 13241-1, moves upwards, completely clearing the passageway.
MTH’s range of automation systems for sliding doors is tested over 300,000 cycles, for door leaves weighing between 80 and 200 kg. Each system can be mounted on the wall or directly on the door leaf, is pre-wired using quick-connectors, is designed for remote access control and is fitted with certified safety devices. The reversibility of the motors and the belt release system ensure operation even in the event of a power cut. Using a PLC, inverter or customisable motherboard, it is possible to adjust the opening forces and configure the automatic closing times, adapting the system’s behaviour to the specific requirements of each installation.
The range is completed by semi-insulated doors in the service door and ‘To&Fro’ models, designed for offices, plant rooms or to separate work areas from passageways: situations where full thermal insulation is not necessary, but build quality and the separation of spaces remain essential requirements.
